View inside a Thracian necropolis built about 2nd century Past Diem

in the mound shown below. Note the peculiar architectonic style,

unique for the Thracians; the Roman influence is obvious as well.

This 2400 years old amphora was recently lifted up from deep waters

in the Black Sea. At its time it has been used to transport salted fish

chops: some of the bones found inside are displayed below.

An artifact recovered from the Black Sea bottom, at a depth of about 100 m, by Prof. P. Dimitrov, from Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He has dubbed it “Noah’s plate.”
